"A Scout Is Reverent" and the setting at Camp Tuckahoe is ideal for
Scouts to strengthen their relationship with God. The "Chapel of the
Four Chaplains," located at the top of the Memorial Mall, is dedicated to
the memory of the four chaplains who gave their lives in the sinking of the
U.S.S. Dorchester during World War II. One of the chaplains, Rabbi
Alexander D. Goode, was a registered Scouter with the York-Adams Area
Council at the time of his heroic death.
The Outdoor Chapel was restored by the Scouters working on their Wood Badge tickets and the Memorial Mall Committee and
provides a magnificent setting for worship services.
