What is POW WOW?
Pow Wow is the “College of Cub Scout Leader Skills”!
It is a Cub Scout Leader learning extravaganza. It is an annual get-together,
a conference, a convention, a big fun-filled experience where Cub Scout
Leaders increase their knowledge, improve their skills, and gain
enthusiastic attitudes about Cub Scouting. It is a place to meet old
friends and make new ones. It is an opportunity for all Cub Scout
Leaders to experience the ideas, fun, and excitement that is the Cub
As a scout leader, you will learn everything from how to:
Fund Your Ideal Year of Scouting, Get your pack to Summer Camp!, and
conduct great den & pack ceremonies.
There are classes on songs, games, pack administration, advancement, and
In addition it’s FUN and GOOD FELLOWSHIP with other
leaders from throughout the York-Adams Area Council. POW WOW IS A BLAST!!!

Scout Store, Exhibit Hall, Midway Displays, and refreshments will be
available throughout the day. Den Chief Training is scheduled
throughout the day.

Pack Program Calendar:
How to set up your pack’s program calendar for the year, starting with
Council events, to pack events.
Pack Master: Learn how to track your unit’s
information. See how Pack Master can increase your unit’s
communications and rechartering.
Adult Leader Awards:
The BSA has numerous recognition programs and awards for all leaders.
Come see what you can earn and present to another volunteer. District
Award of Merit? Religious Awards? BSA Family Awards?
Committee to Pack Relations:
How does a the Pack Committee work, what is its relationship to the
Committee Chairman and to the pack? What should a Pack Committee be
scouts want to be in the outdoors. We need to keep the promise! This
session will review keeping your pack running through the summer months
and going to Summer Camp. Emphasis will be on developing a Summer Camp
Plan, Promotion and Parental Involvement.
How to Use Program Helps:
What is the best kept secret in Scouting? Program Helps! Learn how to
use the monthly themes and rely on the Program Helps to plan your den
and pack meetings. If your pack has never used Program helps let us
show you how.
How to Teach your Scouts those Scouting Skills:
Having trouble teaching knots and other skills? Let us show you how to
teach your scouts.
Scouts with Disabilities:
Scouting is for all Boys. Learn how to meet their needs and challenge
them to the best of their abilities. Come see what resources are
available to help with their scouting experience.
Games and Songs:
Do you know where and when to use games and songs in your pack/den
meetings. What games and songs are appropriate? How do you lead them?
Cub Scouting’s 75th Birthday:
Learn the different ways to celebrate this special event and how to earn
the special awards for it.
