2nd Annual Shooting Clays Event Set For
Sept. 11, 2009 at Central Penn Sporting Clays

The York-Adams Area Council will host its second annual sporting clays shooting event at Central Penn Sporting Clays in Wellsville on Friday, September 11, 2009.

Sporting clays has become a popular activity for both experts and novices alike and offers a new and unique venue to support Scouting with family, friends, clients, and employees. All proceeds from the event will benefit local Scouting programs. Last year's inaugural event raised more than $4,600 in support for Scouting programs in York and Adams Counties.

Participation in the clay shoot includes 100 target clays, ear protection, lunch, and post-shooting refreshments.

Registration begins at 9 AM with a lunch available at 11:30 am.  Shooters have the option to begin the course at 10 am or 1 pm.  Cold drinks and refreshments will be available as shooters complete the course.  The awards ceremony will take place once all shooters have completed their course.

Prizes will be awarded to both the top two teams and top two individuals.  Additional prizes will be available to shooters participating in the flurry and wobble trap.

Volunteers are needed the day of the event. For information on attending or volunteering, please call Kim Hackett at (717) 827-4567 or email at kim.hackett@scouting.org.
