William H. Simpson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co. will be the honoree at the 2005 Distinguished Citizen Dinner on Thursday, June 16th at 6:30 PM at Memorial Hall - East at the York Expo Center.

Simpson has been employed by Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff since 1971.  He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since January 7, 2002.  He was formerly President of The Pfaltzgraff Co. from 1981 to 2001 and Vice President and General Counsel of Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff from 1971 to 1981.   Mr. Simpson is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and Harvard Law School.  Mr. Simpson is a former President of the York-Adams Area Council, serving in that role from 1979 to 1981.  Read Mr. Simpson's biography ...

Former NFL quarterback Archie Manning will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.  Mr. Manning completed an outstanding 15-year National Football League career in 1985, having played 12 seasons for the New Orleans Saints, followed by brief stints with the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings.  He was voted the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1978 and participated in two Pro Bowls. 

Mr. Manning was an All-American quarterback at the University of Mississippi and was the second player chosen in the 1971 NFL draft.  He is the only Ole Miss player to have his number retired and he was the first player in Saints history inducted into the Louisiana Superdome Wall of Fame.   Two of Mr. Manning's sons (Peyton and Eli) are presently starting quarterbacks in the NFL, for the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants, respectively.  Mr. Manning has an outstanding nationwide reputation as a speaker and we look forward to his visit to York.  Read Mr. Manning's biography ...

Individual tickets to the dinner are $125 and several sponsorship levels are available, including:

• Club Box (Distinguished Eagle Sponsor) - $5,000 (16 guests, two personalized autographed footballs signed by Mr. Manning, group photos with Mr. Manning, special banner and admission to a special reception at 5:30 PM).

• Diamond Box (Eagle Sponsor) - $3,000 (16 guests, two autographed footballs, group photos and special reception).

• Field Box (Life Sponsor) - $1,500 (8 guests, one autographed football, group photo, and special reception).

• Terrace Box (First Class Sponsor) - $1,000 (8 guests)

• Mezzanine Box (Tenderfoot Sponsor) - $500 (4 guests)

The value of the dinner for tax purposes is $45 per guest with balance being considered a charitable deduction. All checks should be made payable to "Distinguished Citizen Dinner." 

Contributions to the Distinguished Citizen Dinner benefit both the York-Adams Area Boy Scout Council and Fox 43 Charities - a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation. The portion of the contributions benefiting Fox 43 Charities shall not be subject to any donor restrictions.
