 Camping General Information 2005 Council Florida Sea Base Contingent

2005 Florida Sea Base Council Contingent Planned 

The York-Adams Area Council has requested a council contingent reservation for the "2005 SEA EXPLORER ADVENTURE.  The council's contingent would arrive at Sea Base on either June 18, 19 or 20, 2005, for an eight-day adventure. The contingent is limited to 20-22 participants. All participants must be 14 years of age as of September 1, 2005.  The Florida National High Adventure Sea Base is headquartered in the heart of the fabulous Florida Keys, on an island (Lower Matecumbe Key) 75 miles south of Miami. Scouting's most complete aquatic facility offers a complete variety of water activities from SCUBA diving to sailing "Tall Ships".

All Sea Base participants have the opportunity to swim, snorkel, and fish among the most beautiful coral reefs in the northern hemisphere.

For planning purposes, the fee for an eight-day adventure at Sea Base including travel and stops to and from Sea Base is PROJECTED to be between $850 to $1,100 per person depending upon the way our Council Contingent travels and the number of places we would stop along the way. Our Sea Base cost for the for eight-day program there is $575.

To hold a space in our Council Contingent, a $100 per person,  non-refundable deposit is due by January 3, 2004 to the York-Adams Area Council.  Any adults or youth seeking to attend with the council contingent should contact Todd Weidner at the York-Adams Area Council Service Center at (717) 843-0901 or (800) 569-5197 (outside York).  You can also e-mail Todd at tweidner@bsamail.org.

During the Sea Exploring Adventure Program you will be living on a Tall Ship and traveling around the Florida Keys, Key West and Marquesas Islands with stops and activities throughout the week.
